The New QB1s, Part III – Alcoa: Life After Walker Russell
Walker Russell went 28-2 during his two seasons as starting quarterback at Alcoa, winning two Class 3A state titles, a Mr. Football award (2018) and a BlueCross Bowl MVP (2017).
He even scored the game-winning touchdown in this past season’s 3A title game with 16 seconds left to lift the Tornadoes to their fourth consecutive state championship and TSSAA all-time best 17th overall.
He not only established his place in Alcoa football lore, but he also leaves behind a giant void for the next QB1 at Alcoa to fill.
