The most controversial game of the 2020 high school football season in Tennessee will not be played, leaving a cloud of controversy hanging not only over the contest but also a portion of the Class 6A playoff bracket.
Nevertheless, the Maryville football program now knows its next opponent during this Class 6A state-title defense.
And it’s Dobyns-Bennett, which advances to face the Rebels without having played its second-round game against McMinn County because of Covid issues.
