Alcoa soccer coach Shane Corley wasn’t surprised when the TSSAA postponed the state tournaments for two days this week due to potential rainy weather.
Corley and the Lady Tornadoes are making their fourth consecutive trip to state. Weather has caused problems every year.
This year’s tournaments were scheduled to be played Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at Murfreesboro’s Siegel Soccer Complex.
Instead, they will be played Friday, Saturday, and Monday.
Alcoa, Maryville, Bearden, McMinn County, Greeneville, Seymour and Cumberland Gap have had to adjust their travel plans; yet they will all vie for state titles starting this weekend in the midstate.
