Julian Mays waited two years for his first varsity start for the Webb School of Knoxville baseball team, and the junior right-hander made the most of it Wednesday night.
Mays combined with senior right-hander Taeg Horner on a two-hitter as the Spartans (1-0) opened their season with a 10-1 victory over visiting Catholic (4-3).
