FARRAGUT — Nine lead changes. Nearly 1,000 yards of total offense. And the host team lining up for a potential game-tying field goal from 51 yards out.
Friday’s West at Farragut contest was chock full of momentum swings, big plays and high drama late.
But by game’s end, the Rebels survived an exhaustive tit-for-tat affair via a 41-38 win at Farragut — and doing so on a night when their star player and Michigan State commitment was sidelined with injury.
“It probably aged me about 10 years (tonight),” West coach Lamar Brown quipped after the win. “It was so back-and-forth.
“We had kids who were exhausted. We had a makeshift offensive line going into the game. I’m proud of those guys.”
