MURFREESBORO — Despite the ins and outs of the weather this week in Rutherford County, the TSSAA Division II track & field meets Wednesday were able to be held.
Here are the standout moments and athletes from the 5Star Preps coverage area …
DIVISION II-A BOYS
CAK senior Ethan Fulford followed his third-place finish in the decathlon with a fruitful day in the state meet Wednesday.
Fulford finished first in the 110 hurdles at 15.48 seconds while claiming silver in the pole vault (13-0) and 300 hurdles (40.56).
Colten Lee, of First Baptist Academy in Powell, took second in the 3200 in 9:53.60.
Division II-AA BOYS
Keegan Smith, a national standout runner and freshman at Catholic, won the 1600 in 4:20.81
Division II-A GIRLS
Brianna Baker, of Grace Christian, won the 300 hurdles in 44.75 seconds. She finished second in the 100 hurdles (15.19).
CAK took second in the 4 x 100 relay.
DIVISION II-AA GIRLS
The Webb School of Knoxville underclassmen reached the podium often.
Eighth-grader Jazzlyn Garmer won the high school 3200 with ease at 11:10.08 — a win that cleared second by 13.31 seconds.
Webb freshman Lennox Langham won the long jump (17-5.25) and triple jump (37-8.5).
Webb sophomore Anna Graves took second in the 800 at 2:23.25, and the Lady Spartans 4 x 800 relay team won gold in 9:36.02.
