MURFREESBORO — Torrential rains and storms once again hit the Rutherford County area on Thursday, creating less-than-ideal conditions at the 2022 Class AAA track & field state meet.
And while no area teams claimed titles in the Class AAA meet, plenty of area athletes and relay teams found the honors podium.
Hardin Valley Academy senior Sidnee Stanton won the triple jump with a mark of 36-8.
Her teammates Brooke Taylor and Gracie Waite finished second in the long jump and shot put, respectively. Taylor’s mark in the long jump was 17-9.5 while Wait heaved the shot put 37 feet and 6.75 inches.
The Lady Hawks finished second in the 4 x 800 relay in 9:37.22.
The Maryville girls won the 4 x 400 relay in 4:00.60.
Farragut sophomore Parker Willis claimed second in the Class AAA girls 800 in 2:16.26.
CLASS AAA BOYS
Adrian Gumm, a senior at Maryville, finished runner-up in the shot put, posting a 55-6.5 mark.
Farragut senior Tyler Ebbert, a senior, took second in the 800 with a time of 1:57.02.
The Hardin Valley Academy wound up second in the 4 x 800 relay in 7:58.62.
Maryville’s 4 x 200 squad was second with a 1:24.93 time.
